Yururi Island

The Legend in the Snow

Snow Falls on the Lost Island

Looking at the island from the sky in winter,
it appears like a delicate white ceramic.
The falling snow is blown away by the breath of the sea breeze,
and just covers the island’s grasslands like a thin glaze.

So, the horses living on the island could survive until today.
Without any protection, they grazed on the grass under the thin snow coat to wait for spring.
Or they might be protected.
By this island. By the exquisite nature of the island.

Yes, the island is alive. It lives and protects the life there.
The wind roars. It is the breath of the island. The waves rumble. It is the beat of the island.
Though the islanders left and the visitors ceased to exist, the island still lives on.

The horses run across the smooth, shining ceramic-white snowfield.
This is how the horses talk to the island. Even if no one can hear their words.
The island lives on. The horses will survive, too. The illusion has no end.
